Last summer, our agency had the pleasure of organizing a swimsuit photo shoot for an international e-commerce client on a sun-drenched Greek island. The project brought together an experienced production team, a relaxed seaside atmosphere, and a model who, until then, had only worked locally. What started as a step into the unknown quickly became an experience that changed her view of modeling entirely.
Katja, an amateur model at the time, joined the project with excitement — but also with understandable concerns. Like many new faces, she wasn’t sure what to expect from working abroad. A First Step Beyond Home
Agency: Katja, can you introduce yourself and tell us how you first got involved in this project?
Katja:
“I’m an amateur model and until last year I had only done photo shoots in my home country. I always liked modeling, but I was honestly afraid of offers from abroad because I don’t speak English very well. When I found this offer, I hesitated at first. I love traveling, though, so I finally decided to try. What helped me most was that as soon as I showed interest, the agency arranged communication with someone who spoke my language. Suddenly everything felt easy and clear. I knew exactly what to expect, the terms were agreed very quickly, and three weeks later I was already sitting on a plane heading to Greece.”
Good communication is a key
Communication is very important for our agency, as we often work with people who do not have much experience with photo modeling. Therefore, we immediately assign each interested person to a person who speaks their preferred language. They can choose from: English, German, Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainian or Russian.
A Photo Shoot Designed for Comfort
From the moment Katja arrived, the focus was on making the experience smooth and stress-free. The team arranged airport transfers, accommodation, and a clear daily schedule so she could focus entirely on the shoot itself.
Agency: How did you feel when you arrived at the location?
Katja:
“Honestly, I felt a bit like a princess. Everything was taken care of. From the transfer to the accommodation. I didn’t have to worry about anything. I stayed in a beautiful multi-storey villa with a terrace and a swimming pool, and that’s actually where the photo shoot took place. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, which helped me feel confident even though it was my first international job.”
The production itself was efficient and professional. The shooting took place over three days, with only a few hours of work each day to take advantage of the best natural light. This allowed plenty of time for rest and preparation while still achieving the visual quality expected by an international e-commerce brand.
Work, Travel, and New Experiences
Because of flight availability, Katja stayed on the island for five days in total. The extra time turned the assignment into more than just work.
Katja:
“The shoot itself didn’t take long each day, so I had time to explore the island, go on small trips, and take lots of photos for my social media. What meant a lot to me was that people from the agency were there the whole time. I never had to worry about getting lost or not being able to communicate. I could just enjoy the experience.”

By the end of the project, Katja’s initial worries had completely disappeared.
Katja:
